High Quality Anti Reflective Glass

Anti reflective glass might be more common than you think – it is used in a variety of applications and environments, mainly with the sole aim of reducing reflections. These applications are almost always visual based where light passes through or over a particular surface.

Anti Reflective Glass Applications

Starting with visual instruments, think microscopes and binoculars, spectacle lenses, solar cells, telescopes and Microelectronic Photolithography applications. Anti reflective glass minimises light loss from reflections and stray light.

As well as these, anti reflective glass is used in the medical industry, both for instrument panels and also glass partitioning – intensive care units and maternity wards.

The military will also have a strong use for high quality anti reflective glass. Again, suitable for instrument panels but also command centres and screenage.

More commonly, anti reflective glass is used in retail environments and museums and art galleries – anywhere where a reflection is going to have a negative effect, this special form of glass is utilised. Cinema’s also benefit greatly from anti reflective glass within the projector itself – by making the portal glass anti reflective the projected image suffers from no loss of quality when it hits the big screen.

High Quality Anti Reflective Glass from Diamond Coatings

Anti reflective glass is one of our specialities… At Diamond Coatings we produce a range of specialist coatings and supply to a global customer base for the last 20 years. As well as anti reflective coatings, we also supply hard coatings and Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coatings. ITO can be coated onto plastics, PET films and glass, resulting in the substrate remaining transparent, with the added benefit of now being electrically conductive – which offers a whole new range of applications including touchscreens and heated glass windows.

Our anti reflective coating can be applied to plastics, thin PET films and, of course, glass. On glass, light transmissions are 94% for one side of the glass coated, 96% when both sides are coated.
