The next time you are in a cinema and about to enjoy a movie, think of us. There is a good chance that we have a very small role to play in enhancing your cinematic experience.

Every cinema in the UK uses fire rated cinema projector glass portals to project media to the audience. With the clarity obtained from HD and beyond, this glass needs to have optimal light transmission and colour rendition.

This is where we come in – our contribution to the movie industry. Diamond Coatings have specifically designed and produced an industry leading anti-reflective coated fire rated cinema projector glass, providing superior optical performance of all digitally projected media, both 2D and 3D. These are already installed in many cinemas across not only the UK, but Europe too.

In our opinion, we have nailed the optical performance with the cinema glass having a typical transmission of 96% between 450nm – 650nm, but it also needs to be impact and fire resistant. For this reason, we use Pilkington E60 and E130 fire rated glass. This glass provides impact protection of up to BS EN 12600 Class 1 (depending on the thickness).

The fire rated glass complies with ISO test standards for insulation and integrity, which means it is the ideal base substrate to use as a cinema projector glass..

The anti-reflective glass is available in sizes up to 1000mm x 1000mm and has a typical transmission of 96% between 450nm – 650nm.

At 600mm x 600mm, the ports provide the most optimum optical properties, whereas the outer edges on larger ports may have a slightly reduced transmission.
