An antireflective or anti-reflection (AR) coating is a type of optical coating applied to the surface of lenses and other optical elements to reduce reflection. Coverslips can be coated with Indium Tin Oxide and given an antireflective finish. The elimination of reflection is the main benefit of using anti reflective optical coatings on coverslips.
In typical imaging systems, the use of AR coatings improves the efficiency as less light is lost due to reflection. In complex systems such as telescopes and microscopes the reduction in reflections also improves the contrast of the image by the elimination of stray light when using anti reflective coatings.
Antireflective Coverslips by Diamond Coatings
Diamond Coatings offer a full range of glass types and offer expert advice on suitable glass substrates for different applications, including ITO coverslips. Substrates can be supplied fully dimensioned, profiled to customer’s requirements with radius, holes and cut outs as required. We are utilising the latest glass processing techniques and offer substrates that can also be polished to meet required optical and flatness requirements.
Diamond Coatings can offer both chemically and thermally toughened glass, other available enhancements include anti-glare finish and printed borders or graphics.
Diamond Coatings offer a wide range of Indium Tin Oxide coated microscope coverslips and glass slides. A multitude of options are available, with various dimensions, thickness and resistance levels offered.
Coverslips that include silver polymers/ bus bars are also available.
Many universities globally are already supplied by Diamond Coatings for their AR coated coverslips and microscope slides.
