Gorilla Glass and Dragontrail Glass now part of Diamond Coatings’ range

Diamond Coatings are pleased to announce the addition of Aluminosilicate Dragontrail Glass (AGC) and Gorilla Glass (Corning) to our already extensive range of glass types.

Our Decision to Add Dragontrail Glass and Gorilla Glass

Available for supply either uncoated, machined and/or profiled or with our full portfolio of vacuum deposited coatings – all at very competitive prices – our range already includes, among others, the following substrate types:

• Soda Lime Float Glass

Our decision to add two alumina silicate glass types – Gorilla Glass and Dragontrail Glass – to our range was made in response to the ever increasing demand for beautiful and thin; light and shiny glass that neither gets scratched nor breaks by the rapidly increasing tablet PC, smart phone and touch panel industry as well as now being used for the ever increasingly portable applications with high definition displays that require excellent impact resistance properties.

Gorilla Glass

Third-Generation Corning Gorilla Glass is a sustainable thin sheet alkali-aluminosilicate glass. The superior composition of this glass allows for a much deeper chemical strengthening layer than can be achieved with the majority of other chemically strengthened glasses, which makes it both exceptionally damage resistant and durable. Featuring excellent physical; mechanical, thermal and optical properties, Gorilla Glass is perfect for:

• Protection of electronic displays in mobile devices; smart phone, tablet and laptop screens
• Touch screen devices
• Optical components
• High-strength glass products

It is available in standard and customer specific (upon request) sizes and varying thicknesses.

Aluminosilicate Dragontrail Glass

Manufactured using an environmentally friendly, toxic-chemical-free (no antimony, arsenic or lead are used in the manufacturing process) and exceedingly efficient float process (a method of creating even, flat glass sheets that takes advantage of the generated surface tension when floating liquefied glass on molten tin), Dragontrail Glass features qualities that are superior to other glass and plastics in every area, from texture to scratch resistance and strength.

Featuring superior strength exceeding that of normal glass by far (which has been attested to by three-point bending; hammer, ball-dropping and varying other tests), this innovative glass is particularly suitable for new-generation mobile devices.
