ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) consists of an In2O3 (Indium Oxide) and SnO2 (Tin Oxide) solution that is vacuum deposited as a thin film onto substrates including glass, acrylic, polycarbonate and polyester. Diamox ITO coatings boast properties that are beneficial for a wide range of applications.
Benefits of Diamox ITO Coatings
Offering both higher optical transparency* and better electrical conductivity than other doped metal oxides, Diamox Indium Tin Oxide coatings can, depending on thickness, be produced with sheet resistances from as little as 2.5 Ohms/square.
*20 Ohms/square coatings on glass or polycarbonate have a typical (at a wavelength range of 525 – 600 nm) peak light transmission of 87% or 81% respectively.
Resistant to cracking, crazing and delaminating; flaking and peeling, these coatings also offer chemical stability and resistance to penetration by moisture (subjected to Salt Spray, Thermal and Humidity Cycling to MIL STD 48497, Diamox coatings show no evidence of reductions in sheet resistance/coating adhesion or optical degradation).
What’s more, inhibiting, minimising and potentially eliminating Radio Frequency Interface (RFI), Electro Magnetic Interface (EMI) and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) effects with a shielding effectiveness of 26dB and 58dB at 1GHzz and 1MHzz respectively, Diamox coatings improve the overall performance and reception of electronic devices.
ITO coatings can also be precision etched to create fine conductor paths and meet even highly complex customer patterning requirements.
Applications of Diamox Coatings
Combined with the fact that Indium Tin Oxide coatings can be applied in combination with other coatings to provide highly customised, application-specific solutions, these properties make Diamox ITO the perfect coating for a wide range of applications, including:
- EMI/RFI Shielding
- Capacitive & Resistive Touch Panels
- Photovoltaic Cells
- Optically Clear Heated Display Filters
- Electrostatic Dissipation
- Medical Equipment Displays
- Avionics Cockpit Displays
- Navigational Displays in Military Vehicles and more
Available in sheet sizes and sheet resistances of up to 1000 mm x 1000 mm and 2.5 to 1500 Ohms/square respectively, Diamox coatings can be applied to both shaped and flat substrates, as well as injection moulded parts, making them the perfect solution for an extensive range of industries including:
- Automotive, Aerospace & Entertainment
- Medical, Imaging & Microscopy
- Research & Development
- Space, Military & Defence and More
Diamond Coatings produce an extensive range of ITO, Index Matched ITO and Multi-Layer AR (Anti-Reflective) coatings, including many that were specifically designed to meet customer-specific optical requirements.
